    STEEL SCRAP or HEAVY MELTING SCRAP (HMS 1 & 2) is the generic term for most types of heavy steel scrap, normally cut to a size not exceeding 1.5m x 0.5m. It consists of cut lengths of pipe, re-bar, angles, steel poles, H or I beams, ships plate and so on. HMS 1 is the term for heavier scrap which has a density of at least 0.7 tons per cubic meter, whereas HMS 2 would be lighter steel scrap such as thin wall tubing (e.g. bicycle frames), sheet scrap less than 3.2mm thick and so on. The two (Hms1& 2) are normally sold together with a ratio of 80/20 heavy and light.

    ISRI 200 No.1 Wrought iron and/or steel scrap 1/4 inch and over in thickness. Individual pieces not over 60 inches x 18 inches (charging box size)
    ISRI 201 (HMS 1): Same as ISRI 200 except pieces must be smaller than 36x18 in.
    ISRI 202 No. 1 heavy melting steel 5 feet x 18 inches. Prepared in a manner to insure compact charging.
    ISRI 203 No. 2 heavy melting steel. Wrought iron and steel scrap, black and galvanized, 1/8 inch and over in thickness, charging box size to include material not suitable as No. 1 heavy melting steel. Prepared in a manner to insure compact charging.
    ISRI 204 No. 2 heavy melting steel. Wrought iron and steel scrap, black and galvanized, size 36 x 18 inches. May include all automobile scrap properly prepared.
    ISRI 205 No. 2 heavy melting steel 3 feet x 18 inches. Wrought iron and steel scrap, black and galvanized, size 36 x 18 inches. May include automobile scrap, properly prepared, however, to be free of sheet iron or thin gauged material.
    ISRI 206 No. 2 heavy melting steel 5 feet x 18 inches. Wrought iron and steel scrap, black and galvanized, size 60 x 18 inches. May include automobile scrap, properly prepared, however, to be free of sheet iron or thin gauged material.

    Specifications:

    • HMS 1 & 2 (80:20) and HMS1 (100%)
    • Steel scraps shall be considered free of alloys when the residual alloying elements do not exceed the following percentages: percent
    • Nickel 0.45
    • Chromium 0.20
    • Molybdenum 0.10
    • Manganese 1.65
    • The combined residuals other than manganese shall not exceed a total of 0.60 percent.


    Procedures:

    • Buyer sends a LOI/ICPO.
    • Seller send FCO, Buyer sign/seal FCO
    • Seller issues Draft Contract with banking details.
    • Buyer sign/seal draft contract and return if acceptable.
    • Buyer have face-to-face meeting with Seller and for signing final contract. The meeting place to be mutually agreed between Seller and Buyer.
    • Buyers Bank issue non-operative DL/C to seller's bank.
    • Sellers bank issues 2% Performance Bond.
    • Buyers bank issues the operative DL/C to the seller's bank.
    • Seller commences shipment.
    • Buyers company should have all import permits and/or opening Licenses.
    • Copies of all relevant permits and licenses should be sent to the seller.
    • If the Buyer agrees to the above terms with loi/Icpo with Bcl then seller issue the fco & sales contract.
