Hot Strip Mill Mandrels

Among the most complex items Industrial Maintenance Welding & Machining repairs or furnishes are hot strip mill mandrels. These mandrels are used on coilers at steel mills, which wind hot rolled steel into coils, and they must operate in very intense conditions. We work on every type of mandrel or reel, including hot strip, cold mill, sheet, tin pickle, etc. Using our horizontal boring mill and CNC lathe, we machine bronze and cast steel forgings up to 20" in diameter to exacting tolerances of ±0.001. Completed mandrels undergo dimensional and visual inspections before being shipped to our national and international customers. Working from customer specifications and 2D CAD drawings, projects of this complexity typically take us a few months to finish.
