Humidity Indicator Cards (HIC) are an inexpensive method of monitoring relative humidity within packaged and sealed materials that are most commonly used by the military and industries that utilize semiconductors. These cards are constructed with a very specific chemical that is extremely sensitive to moisture. The chemical additive is largely based in cobalt (II) chlorine. As the levels of humidity rise or fall, the cards will change colors. The more common HIC�s will change from blue to pink as the levels of humidity change from �lower than indicated levels of relative humidity� to higher.
