    I-BEAMS
The S Beam has a cross section shape that looks like an “I” or “H” and is identified by their unique inside tapered flanges versus the wide flange beam which has square flanges. See image on the left. This beam also goes by the name of: I Beam and M Beams.
The “I” shape of the beam resists bending and deflection which allows for a higher load ratio than a rectangular shaped beam, like a Wide Flange Beam. The S Beam is used in buildings, bridges, and various construction projects.
