A boiler can be defined as a closed vessel in which water or other fluid is heated under pressure. This fluid is the circulated out of the boiler for use in various processes or power generation. In the case of power generation steam is aken out of the steam boiler at very high pressure and temperature.

A boiler incorporates a fire box or furnace in order to burn the fuel and generate the heat. The generated heat is transffered  to water make steam, the process of boiling this produsce saturated steam at a rate which can vary according to the pressure above the boiling water.
