The Lighting business of the group was founded by Mr. Moti Malkani and his partners in the early 1970s in Mumbai to cater to requirements of several large OEM brands in India viz Bajaj, Crompton Greaves, Genelec, Mysore Lamps etc.
In the late 1970s, the business was relocated to Daman (located in Gujarat, India) as Multi Lighting Controls Pvt Ltd under the leadership of its chairman Mr. Moti Malkani and Managing Director Mr. Gautam Malkani.
In 2010 Multi entered into a Joint Venture with Fulham Inc. USA a global manufacturer, and supplier of high-quality electronic ballasts, LED Drivers, Light Engines, and several other products. The Joint Venture under the name of Fulham India Pvt Ltd set up a state of the art manufacturing facility in Pune, India in 2011 to manufacture electronic control gears and light engines for the global market.
