Contact SupplierHRSFUNKE has an extensive level of experience in the development and manufacture of shell and tube heat exchangers. A wide range of models allows for the meeting of almost all heat transfer requirements in the oil and gas, food, general industrial processing and chemical applications.Â
A heat exchanger is an unfired vessel, in which, separated by a thin wall, two media flow without mixing themselves. The temperature difference between the two media leads to the exchange of heat.Â
As is shown in the schematic below, one medium flows in the shell side whilst the other flows in the tube side. The flow through the shell side is controlled by baffles that generate cross flow against the tube bundle. The design and spacing of the baffles are specified according to the application. The media stream through the tubes is designed as either a single or multi-pass flow and is based on usefulness, velocity and pressure loss.Â
