Contact SupplierGuokun Casting, of Baoding Hebei is an ISO 9001-2008 registered iron and steel foundry & supplier of high quality carbon steel, cast iron and machined castings used in power, mining, railway, agricultural, tillage, truck, automobile, pump, valve, motor, pipe fittings and gear industry. Baoding Guokun has been specialized in the designing and manufacturing of various valve components for ball valve, gate valve, globe valve, butterfly valve, through conduit gate valve, knife gate valve, bellow valve, strainers and flow control components.
What is a valve disc?
The valve disc is an important movable component within a valve that controls the flow of fluid by either allowing it to pass through or block it, depending on its position; essentially, it's the valve components that directly regulates the fluid flow by creating a seal against the valve seat when closed.
A broad line of materials is offered and fabricated in Baoding Guokun.
Steel material ranges from cast steel, forged steel to special alloy steel like Monel, Duplex.
Cast iron materials in GG20, GG25 or ductile iron of GGG40, GGG50, etc.
Aluminum, brass, copper and bronze valve parts can be produced in our factory.
What's the best material for a valve disc?
Stainless steel is the most common valve disc material because of its anti-corrosive, anti-heat and anti-contamination properties. The Baoding Guokun stainless steel casting valve disc is made as investment casting process, or lost-wax casting process that results in a significantly improved surface finish & casting tolerance and valve disc quality than other sand cast stainless steel valve disc and bronze valve disc.
Two types of investment cast processes: Silica Sol process and the water glass process.
The Silica Sol process is used to cast complex high-quality parts with requirements of a very good surface finish and close dimensional tolerances. This process can range from a weight of just a few ounces to approximately 80 pounds. If you are concerned with precision in very small parts, we are especially proficient at very fine detail work including teeth and serrations.
The water glass process is typical of the process in the early stages of investment castings. It generally is capable of much larger castings than the Silica Sol process, but does not have as good of surface finish or tolerances. The water glass process provides parts that have better surface finish and dimensional tolerances than sand castings. This process may range in weight from several ounces to approximately 200 pounds.
First article layouts and spectrometer material certifications are provided with all first article samples.
Custom service: A variety of secondary operations can be performed on both types of investment castings. They include heat treatment, machining, plating, painting, polishing and buffing, assembly services and even custom packaging.
