Overview:
Ivermectin is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic medication used to treat internal and external parasitic infections. It works by paralyzing and killing parasites through interference with their nerve and muscle function. Available in 3 mg, 6 mg, and 12 mg strengths, it is effective against various parasitic conditions.
Intestinal Parasites: Strongyloidiasis (threadworm infection).
Onchocerciasis: River blindness (caused by Onchocerca volvulus).
Scabies: Treatment for mites causing skin infestation.
Lice Infestation: Kills and removes head lice.
Filariasis: Helps reduce microfilariae in the blood.
Other Off-Label Uses: May be prescribed for rosacea, demodex infestation, and certain viral infections.

Ivermectin disrupts nerve and muscle function by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, leading to:
