Jigat is trade name of powdered barks of Machilus macrantha and Listsea chinensis. Powdered bark of M. Macrantha known as JIGAT in trade functins as an adhesive or binder in agarbathi manufacture. When mixed with water it formas as ideal material to bind wood charcoal, aromatic roots and herbs to the bamboo splint. Besides good binding properties, it combiles well with other raw material and does not influence the natural aroma of perfumed stick.
