A lakshminarayan shaligram has two natural chakra patterns within it , signifying the Lakshmi and the Narayan,these chakras are created by an insect called vajra keet that makes beautiful patterns of vishnu sudarshan chakra in these shilas.This comes in two shapes ,one is in which the upper and the lower shilas can be opened to reveal the chakra pattern within and the other in which the upper and the lower shilas are fixed ,cant open but a broad front is open to reveal the upper shila chakra and the lower shila chakra fused together naturally.The second is the Tunnel type shaligram.
