Elastomeric Bearing :

• This custom-moulded product is manufactured with 100% rubber for plain Elastomeric bearing pads or made up of alternating rubber layers and steel plates for laminated Elastomeric bearing pads.
• The addition of an external Teflon layer, together with a polished stainless steel plate, converts this product to a sliding bearing

Advantages of Zurich Elastomeric Bearings :

• Allows beam rotation at the bearing due to deflection of the beam under load
• Allows lateral and longitudinal movement of the beam caused by thermal forces
• Unlike other Elastomeric, neoprene rubber undergoes no marked stiffening at low temperatures when the thermal contraction of the bridge deck is at the maximum
• No movable parts
• Easier to install when compared to other types of bearings with no maintenance required

Plain Elastomeric Bearing Pad & Strip :

• Plain Elastomeric, that is, non reinforced, Bearing Pads and Bearing Strips have many uses in both civil engineering and building applications to support either concrete or steel superstructures, where a simple, economical,effective, separation strip, capable of carrying compressive load, together with providing some translational movement and rotational capacity, is required. Applications are many and varied, but typically used under short span cast concrete slabs in bridges or precast 
• Bearing Pads & Bearing Strips are manufactured from a high-grade synthetic neoprene or natural rubber compound complying (typically) with the requirements of BS-5400. Thicknesses are typically 3mm, 6mm, 10mm, 12mm, 20mm, and 25mm.Plan sizes are manufactured to order. Holes and slots can be provided.

Applications : Bearing Pads & Bearing Strips will provide a resilient bearing, capable of accommodating tolerances between substructure and superstructure, together with the centralizing of the load onto the corbel or pier, together with rotational and shear capacity.
