Laparoscope

Laparoscopy is one kind of surgical procedure that helps a surgeon to view and operate the inner parts of the abdomen or female pelvis through one or many small incisions on the skin. It is performed to identify several abdominal problems including fibroids, adhesions, cysts, and infections. Tissue samples from the affected parts can be collected through laparoscopic tube and processed for biopsy.
In many situations, laparotomy surgery can be replaced by laparoscopy to avoid large cut of the abdomen for minor issues. Laparoscopy is stress-free and cost-effective than laparotomy and has fewer complications comparatively. The device used is a small, thin tube having a light source and camera for relaying the images of internal organs onto a system or television monitor.
