Contact SupplierThe leg press machine is a lower-body strength training machine used to work the quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. It allows users to lift heavy weights in a stable seated or reclined position, reducing strain on the spine compared to free-weight squats.
Description:
Design: It consists of a padded seat and backrest, a large footplate for foot positioning, and either a weight stack (selectorized) or plate-loaded sled for resistance.
Types:
Incline Leg Press (45-degree): The user lies at an angle and pushes the footplate upward.
Horizontal Leg Press: The user sits upright and pushes the plate straight forward.
Foot Platform: Wide enough to allow varied foot placements to shift emphasis between muscle groups.
How It Works:
Sit in the machine with your back and head supported, and feet flat on the platform.
Select your resistance.
Push the platform away by extending your knees and hips.
Slowly return to the start position by bending the knees.
Muscles Worked:
Primary: Quadriceps
Secondary: Gluteus maximus, hamstrings, calves
