Leicester Longwool Sheep

An illustrious older breed, but now endangered in the UK. The sheep are large with a long, lustrous fleece which comes in white and greybrown. The wool is softer and shinier when worsted spun and similar in many ways to Cotswold (see above). It dyes well and is good for outerwear.
