Gel with Clot Activator: Gel and Clot Activator Tubes contain inert gel during centrifugation, the gel forms a stable barrier between serum and blood cells. The tubes allow to obtain more serum than regular tubes due to the cleaner separation of serum from the clot.

Vacuum tubes may contain additives designed to stabilize and preserve the specimen prior to analytical testing. Tubes are available with a safety-engineered stopper, with a variety of labelling options and draw volumes. The color of the top indicates the additives in the vial.
