LLDPE has a density range of 0.910–0.920 kgm−3 and it is substantially a linear polymer with significant numbers of short branches. It is commonly produced by copolymerisation of ethylene with short-chain α-olefins (e.g. 1-butene, 1-hexene and 1-octene).
