INTRODUCTION

LONITAB 2.5 contains minoxidil which belongs to a group of medicine called vasodilators. Vasodilators are medications that helps open (dilate) blood vessels and affect the muscles in the walls of your arteries and veins thus preventing the muscles from tightening and the walls from narrowing. This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It relaxes the muscles of your blood vessels and improves the blood flow around your body resulting in low blood pressure.

Take this medicine and your other blood pressure medications regularly and at the same times each day. Do not stop taking this medication without speaking to your doctor. It may take several days to a couple of weeks to get the full benefit of this medicine. Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness. If your condition, that your blood pressure remain high or increased inform your doctor. The dose for children 12 years and under will be decided by the doctor based on their weight.
