    SwitchOn’s AI-Powered Biscuit Inspection is a dedicated DeepInspect® visual quality inspection software designed for FMCG biscuit manufacturing. It automates the detection of production defects and packaging issues on high-speed production lines, replacing inconsistent manual inspection with precise, AI-driven quality control.

    Core Capabilities
    DeepInspect® uses AI-powered computer vision and industrial-grade cameras to inspect biscuits of various shapes and sizes inline. The system is capable of identifying multiple in-pack product defects, including:

    • Cracks in biscuits

    • Foreign particle contamination on the surface

    • Logo inconsistencies

    • Half-baked or under-processed biscuits

    • Visible or oozing cream defects

    • Biscuits sticking together

    • Shape and structural anomalies


    For out-pack inspection, DeepInspect® extends its capabilities to packaging quality by identifying:

    • Surface defects on cartons or wrappers

    • Artwork defects such as misprints or misaligned graphics

    • Packaging and label errors

    • Optical character recognition and verification (OCR/OCV) for batch codes and regulatory information


    How It Works
    The inspection setup places industrial cameras and lighting above the production line to capture top-down images of biscuits and packaging at typical line speeds of 180–200 parts per minute. DeepInspect® models are trained with fewer than 200 good-product images and can be ready in under 45 minutes, substantially reducing deployment time. When a defect is detected, the system triggers an automated rejection mechanism to remove non-conforming products without interrupting the production flow. The software also includes defect classification, allowing operators to understand specific reasons for rejection.

    The AI-powered inspection significantly reduces manual labor requirements, enabling manufacturers to eliminate the need for multiple inspectors on the line. DeepInspect® delivers reliable, high-accuracy results while limiting system-related waste to less than 0.5% of inspected units.
