Malic Acid

 Malic acid has the form of white to colorless crystals and has a sour

 taste. It is very soluble in water and alcohol, and slightly soluble

 in ether.

 Malic acid is commonly used as a food additive, particularly for

 flavoring. It is also used in the manufacture of esters and salts,

 paints, textiles, and in water treatments.
