Medieval Steel Shield 13th Century

In the 12th century with the introduction of the pot helmet, the individual knight could no longer be recognized by his face, and another means of identification became necessary. Therefore their shields were painted in boldly contrasting colours and because armorial bearings were also designed for battle, they preferred displays of fierce animals. We are offering a reenactors' copy of such a dragon shield made from steel, reinforced in the centre and with a wooden grip attached by 2 screws.
