Mentha Essential Oil

Mentha arvensis oil is extracted by steam distillation of the aerial parts of Mentha arvensis L., organically cultivated in low lands of Nepal.
Characteristics

• Appearance - Slightly thick liquid
• Color - Pale yellow
• Aroma - Strong, fresh, bitter-sweet, minty odor

Active constituents : Mainly menthol, menthone, a-pinene, p-menthone, menthyl acetate, iso-menthone, thujone, pheliandrene, piperitone, men- thofuran, Iimonene, a-terpineol, camphene, B-caryophyllene, germacrene D.
Uses :

• Used in aromatherapy
• Employed in soaps, toothpastes, mouthwashes, detergents, cosmetics, perfumes and industrial fragrances.
• Used in food industry especially for flavoring confectionery, liquors and chewing gum.
• in the isolation of menthol crystals.
