Mercury Iodide processed by the direct union of mercury and iodine. This is done by adding an aqueous solution of potassium iodide to an aqueous solution of mercury (II) chloride by stirring. The precipitate is then filtered off, washed and dried at 70 degree C to obtain Mercury Iodide. Further, Mercury Iodide is used for therapeutic uses.
