A microscope c-mount adapter allows you to connect a microscope camera to the trinocular port of the microscope (see image below). C-Mount adapters are microscope specific, which means they are designed specifically for the brand of microscope to keep the camera in focus while the eyepieces are in focus.A C mount is a type of lens mount commonly found on 16 mm movie cameras, closed-circuit television cameras, machine vision cameras and microscope phototubes. C-mount lenses provide a male thread, which mates with a female thread on the camera.The C-mount is a standardized threaded connection for professional-grade (moving-image) camera lenses. The thread has an outer diameter equal to 1 inch (2.54 cm) and a 1/32-inch pitch.The C-Mount flange distance is 17.526mm. It is ideal for many industrial applications, as the threaded mount provides a robust, controlled interface between the camera and lens. The CS-Mount standard is the same as the C-Mount standard, but with a reduced flange distance of 12.526mm.
