The Modular Substations are a state-of-the-art-system that simplifies conventional substation design. Modular Substations are built as a product in line with the thinking of the architects who are quite concerned with aesthetics, safety and easy of installation. Due to enclosed construction, Modular Substations avoid bird hit, human/animal contacts which may lead to fatal accidents, disruption of supply and power loss in open execution substation. In open execution installations, the AB Switch/ Transformer/LA/HG fuse are mounted on either two or four pole structures. The hanging and sagging of wires gives a clumsy appearance affecting the elevation of the building. Modular Substations are an underground cable in – cable out technology. Moreover, the tall structures not only occupy the floor area, but also shaft area along the high-rise building. Space Saving & Cost Effective : Space is major constraint in urban areas. Space to install Modular Substations is typically 4m x 2m which is approximately the space required for a car park. Saving of floor space to the tune 80-85% can be achieved by installing MSS as compared to that required for conventional installation. Salient Features :
