EDPM cable assemblies are chosen where excellent resistance to weathering, aging and ozone is required. Hypalon is also excellent for resistance to chemicals, hot watersteam and the polar solvents acetone, methanol or esters. The material also has excellent electrical insulating properties, a high heat resistance and good low temperature properties. The main drawbacks of this material is its low resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons (mineral oils & fuels) and solvents and its relatively high flammability.
