Monel 500 (UNS N05500) is also known as Monel K500 which is designed to combine the excellent corrosion resistance properties of Monel 400 with the added benefit of greater strength and hardness.  Alloy K-500 has approximately three times the yield strength and double the tensile strength when compared with alloy 400 hence it provides better tendency towards stress-corrosion cracking in various environments.

Characteristics of Monel 500

Monel 500 valves are designed and suitable to use in marine and chemical environments such as pure water, non-oxidizing mineral acids, salts and Alkalis. It has good resistant to sour-gas service. Provides excellent mechanical properties from sub-zero temperatures upto 500C.
