Contact SupplierMorganite Gemstone (Hardness of 7.50)
Categorized under beryl, “Morganite†is a beautiful gem mainly found in Peach-Pink color. This gemstone is also known as "pink beryl", "rose beryl", "pink emerald", and "cesian beryl". The stone got its official name after millionaire bank tycoon J.P. Morgan, who was an avid gem collector.
The gemstone is very rarely found and is mined from different parts of Brazil, Mozambique, Namibia, Afghanistan, and Russia. However, the rarity does not lead to rise in the price of the gem as it cannot be polished and used due to the same reason. Morganite can occasionally be found in large sizes, the largest being a 598.70-carat cushion-shape from Madagascar and presently kept at display in The British Museum.
With a hardness of 7.5, morganite is a durable gem perfect for everyday wear. They are available in mm sizes and far sizes in shape of Round, Oval, Pear, Heart, Marquies, Trillion, Square, Octogun, Cushion, Checker Boards, Buff Tops, Cabs etc.
