Contact SupplierThe Mild Steel (MS) Steel Plates, which are a production results from the manufacturing out of mild steel, deemed to be a type of Carbon Steel that contains a low level of carbon. What generally forms these are coiled either hot-rolled or cold-rolled, with the hot-rolled coils (HR) that have a raw, rough surface, and the coils coming off from cold rolling (CR) that has a polished, smooth finished. As such, a M.S steel plate is used for its strengths and durability properties in many generic applications. As such, this can widely be used from structural building elements, building and other applicable structure, shipbuilding, service machinery, other rail cars, and others starting from productivity devices in the home to heavy equipment.

Chemical Properties of MS Coil/Steel Plate
These comprise an admixture of various elements that tend to influence the physical and mechanical properties of the steel in M.S coil and steel plates. The prime chemical properties commonly linked with M.S coil and with steel plates are as follows.
Carbon (C):
Mild steel contains a relatively low percentage of carbon.
Carbon contributes to the strength and hardness of the steel. The carbon content in mild steel typically ranges from 0.05% to 0.25%.
Manganese (Mn):
The manganese is then alloyed with mild steel to produce a much stronger, more easily workable product. It promotes the formation of the phases of ferrite and pearlite on solidification.
