Mucuna Powder

Mucunapruriens belongs to family- Leguminosa, is a plant from India- particularly in the tropics- and is also found in tropical regions of Africa and the Caribbean. Mucunaalso known as cowhage or Velvet Beans, is a bean that grown from trees and is very itchy to touch due to serotonin on its surface. It is a good source of L- DOPA which is also known as Levodopa. This is a dopamine precursor and also used as a pharmaceutical to treat Parkinson’s disease. Mucunapruriens is primarily sweet and bitter, and is quite warming. It has an affinity for all the tissues in the body, but is especially suited to balance the nervous, reproductive and digestive system.
