Contact SupplierA multi‑spring mechanical seal uses several coil springs arranged circumferentially around the shaft to provide uniform axial pressure on the sealing faces. This design ensures even contact, enhanced stability, and improved sealing performance, especially compared to single‑spring configurations
Operating Principle
\\
The multiple springs press the rotating face into the stationary face, forming a microscopic lubricating fluid film (a few microns thick) when the shaft rotates . This film prevents direct contact, reducing wear and controlling heat. If one spring fails, the remaining springs maintain sealing pressure, providing redundancy and reliability.
Performance Benefits
\\
Uniform Pressure & Low Wear: Multiple springs distribute load evenly, minimizing stress and distortion for extended life and better seal integrity .
\Heat Dissipation & High RPM Capability: Enhanced cooling and fluid circulation allow safe operation at high shaft speeds (4 000–6 000 RPM or sliding velocities up to ~25 m/s) .
\Redundancy & Reliability: With multiple springs, a single spring failure doesn\\\'t immediately compromise sealing; overall durability improves .
\Versatile Material Options: These seals support varied face materials and elastomer combinations to match harsh fluids and elevated temperatures, making them ideal for chemical, oil & gas, and slurry applications .
