Manufacturing Process

The strand woven ranks among the hardest species of hardwood flooring due to a unique patented manufacturing process. This patented process applies a proprietary treatment to bamboo strands that have been shredded from the stalks, causing the fibers to fuse together with an environmentally safe adhesive put under extreme pressure. This produces a floor that is even harder and denser than traditional bamboo flooring, with a grain more similar to hardwood flooring. This process forms a highly durable flooring plank appropriate for both residential and commercial installations. To this we add stringent environmental and quality control specifications during the manufacturing process.

Comparison with Bamboo Flooring

It absolutely differs from the traditional bamboo flooring. The techniques and composition distinguish the strand woven from the traditional bamboo flooring. The composition of strand woven is bamboo strand (fiber) instead of bamboo pieces for traditional bamboo flooring.

What’s more, the material consumption of strand woven per square meter is higher than the traditional bamboo flooring by 30 percent at least (for high density and hardness).

Compared with the traditional bamboo flooring and wood flooring, the strand woven bamboo flooring possesses not only higher density and rigidity but also lower free formaldehyde releasing . It is 18% harder than Santos Mahogany and 43% harder than standard bamboo flooring, twice as hard as Red Oak, etc.:

Coating is water-based and solvent free meets U.S. and stringent European (E1) standards for off-gassing.
