Navel Oranges

The navel is a unique member of the orange family, with a smaller secondary fruit embedded near the blossom end. Navel oranges are large to extra-large in size, mostly seedless & are usually round to oval shaped with a fairly thick skin. The fruit is easy to peel & split. The color of the both fruit & the peel range from deep yellow to orange.
There are two kinds of kinds of navel oranges, an early maturing variety and a late maturing variety. The early navel oranges are mostly consumed domestically , whereas the late navels are mainly exported.
Sweet, juicy, full of zest &aromatic with a crunchy texture; usually seedless, they are easy to peel and ideal as a healthy snack at the any time of the day.
