Types of Neps Yarn                                                                 

When it comes to the Neps Yarn, then there are tiny entangled knots of fibres. Depending upon the knot, Neps yarn can be classified into two forms, which are mentioned below.

• Fiber Neps
• Seed coat Neps

Fiber Neps –Fiber Neps are the ones that consist only knots of fibres and are relatively smaller in size.

Seed coat Neps – Seed coat Neps are the ones containing particles of leaf, seed and husks. They are different from the fibre Neps and form the largest group of Neps.

Depending upon the group section or in simple words diameter, Neps can be further classified into three different types. Their usages are mentioned below.

Small Neps –The small Neps are the ones whose diameter is less than 0.3 mm, due to their size and mass they are the most difficult to remove.

Medium Sized Neps –The medium sized Neps are the ones whose diameter are ranged between 0.4-0.9 mm and are usually efficiently removed during the method of carding.

Large Neps – The large Neps are the ones whose diameter is 1 mm or above that, and this one is removed most easily due to the size and relatively dense mass during the method of carding.
