Uses : Norethisterone is a man-made form of progesterone, a naturally occurring female heath hormone. It has a number of uses :

• Low-strength progesterone is used in oral contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy.

• To treat abnormal, heavy or continuous bleeding during periods: 5 mg tablet, three times daily for ten days.
• To prevent abnormal, heavy or continuous bleeding during periods OR treat prolonged or heavy periods - 5 mg tablet twice daily from the 19th to the 26th day of your menstrual cycle (counting the first day of your period as day one).
