Logika Technologies infrared laser optical barrier, Model OB-ITPF, is designed for automation of steel, aluminum, and other production lines characterized as having extreme industrial environments. With its high-output pulse laser, the OB-ITPF is particularly well suited to detect billets and slabs inside reheat furnaces. It exhibits strong anti-jamming capabilities in high radiation environments and performs well around fog, smoke, dust, and water spray. The sensor makes use of an emitter and receiver set with the IP66 electronics coupled to the robust steel and glass lens assembly via high temperature fiber optics. The fiber allows the electronics to be positioned away from the heat source without need for additional air purge or water cooling, thus allowing for simple installation, long service life, and maintenance free operation.
