Odetron contains Ondansetron which is an antiemetic medicine which is used to treat and prevent nausea and vomiting caused by surgery, cancer medicines (chemotherapy) or radiation therapy. Odetron is FDA approved medicine for the prevention of nausea and vomiting. Its works by blocking a natural substance called serotonin in the brain that causes nausea and vomiting. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that plays a variety of roles in the body including memory, cognition and mood. Serotonin also triggers nausea and vomiting when it binds to certain receptors in the brain stem. Toxins and upsetting foods can trigger a sharp increase in serotonin, leading to nausea and vomiting. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy can trigger this effect as well. It’s also work for nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy and gastroenteritis. Odetron is most effective to prevent nausea and vomiting who have undergoing radiation therapy. It is also used after surgery as due to anesthesia given during surgery can cause nausea and vomiting.

Usage :  Odetron is used to prevent nausea and vomiting. Odetron is an antiemetic medication.
