Clamshell blister packaging has become popular for high visibility of the product, but making the clamshell tamper-resistant is a must. Ultrasonic welding requires no adhesives, heatshrink bands or staples and the final package will have a nice appearance and high strength.
Craig Machinery & Design, Inc. pioneered continuous welding for produce and baking industry packaging machines. This application includes high speed lettuce tub lid welders with speeds of up to 100 fpm.
