Paclitaxel

We are offering paclitaxel is a cyclodecane isolated from the bark of the pacific yew tree, taxus brevifolia. It stabilizes microtubules in their polymerized form leading to cell death. Paclitaxel is a microtubule inhibitor. The physiologic effect of paclitaxel is by means of microtubule inhibition.
Paclitaxel is a compound extracted from the pacific yew tree taxus brevifolia with antineoplastic activity. Paclitaxel binds to tubulin and inhibits the disassembly of microtubules, thereby resulting in the inhibition of cell division. This agent also induces apoptosis by binding to and blocking the function of the apoptosis inhibitor protein bcl-2 (b-cell leukemia 2).

paclitaxel is off-white powder. It is soluble in ethanol (~1.5 mgml), dmso (5 mgml), acetonitrile, methanol (50 mgml), chloroform, 1:10 dmso: pbs(ph 7.2) (~0.1 mgml), and dmf (~5 mgml) insoluble in water with melting range of 213°c to 216°c.
