Palm Fiber

 Palm Fibre or Peat Fiber is produced from the Oil Palm�s vascular bundles in the Empty Fruit Bunch ( EFB ). When the FFB ( Fresh Fruit Bunch ) is processed, the by product is Mesocarp Fiber and Palm Fiber. The Mesocarp fiber is re-used by the Palm Oil Mill and the Palm Fiber is sold. Palm Fiber is 100% natural, non-hazardous, biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Two main uses of Empty Fruit Bunches are for mulching purposes in Plantation and as fuel for electricity generation. Palm fibers have more uses, namely, 1) Animal Feed supplement for cattle, goats, sheep, 2) Rich source of organic fertilizer for farming, 3) Excellent mulching material for young plants, seedlings and landscaping, 4) Raw Material for Composite Board Manufacture, 5) Alternative Boiler Fuel in the form of fiber or Pellets , amongst others. Palm Fiber is becoming a popular source of fuel for renewable energy ( RE ) power generation. The main achievement for using biomass based RE power generation is the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions ( GHG ).
