Infrared panel heaters are custom built heaters operating primarily in the long wave range. The basic construction consists of a resistance coil embedded into a ceramic fibre board which is then located behind an emitting surface of either anodised aluminium or glass ceramic. This is then placed inside a 75mm high aluminised steel housing which normally contains 50mm of thermal insulation to reduce heat loss through the rear of the unit.
