Among many tests performed, one of them is burst strength test that is used for testing of paper and packaging. The tests provide result of how much pressure paper can take before getting ruptured. Further, bursting strength is measured as maximum hydrostatic pressure that is needed for rupturing sample through constantly enhancing pressure that is applied through rubber diaphragm on sample of 1.20 - inch diameter (30.5 mm). Here, the test method complies to bs 3137, bs 2922:1 and international standard iso 2758 and iso 2759.
