By running the almost dryer paper web between the rollers under high pressure, the paper is compacted and smooth. The finished paper web is wound up on a steel shaft (reel). The paper now contains 5 – 8% moisture content. The paper now has all the characteristics required for its end use, but must be cut into narrower reels by a slitter / rewinder.
