unit tests the consistency of lubricating greases, petroleum waxes, bitumen’s, pastes, creams and other solid to semi-solid products, including a variety of food products. Microprocessor control provides a full range of measurement and reporting options. The penetrometer defaults to the standard astm interval of 5 seconds “or” 60 seconds “or” as per choice. All selected parameters are retained in memory and automatically repeated in subsequent tests until changed by the operator.
Penetration measurements in the full range of 0-400 “or” 0-600 in 110th of mm scale “or” 1100th of mm are reported directly in digits. If a test result falls outside of the programmed range, an audible signal and visual error message alert the user of a failed sample. It is incorporated with motorized placement of rack on the penetrated plunger carrying needle & locks the reading once it touches tip of the plunger-head with auto-positioning of rack at its home position for subsequent next measurement. It is also coupled with electrically operated plunger solenoid coil to activate release of plunger shaft as per set duration of time. For precise placement of tip of needle to the specimen sample surface, the unit is coupled with jack for updown movement.the height of the whole assembly (rack &pinion ,plunger with electrical coil etc)can also be adjusted & fixed for test-run results can be communicated to a printer or computer via a built-in rs232 interface (as
