INTEGRITY TESTING OF PLIES BY LSIT(TDR) METHOD
The Test -
The Transient Dynamic Response (TDR) method is a reliable, simple, easy and more versatile way of pile integrity data. The equipment is lighter, the heavy vibrator is replaced by a load cell weighing less than 1 kg. Other components include an oscilloscope, velocity transducer (geophone), microprocessor and X Y plotter. The TDR involves impacting the pile / section head with a hand held instrumented hammer and measuring both impact force and pile / section velocity response as a function of time. The set of Data is processed to yield Mobility / frequency plots. The results can be interpreted to give information about both the pile / section shaft integrity and the surrounding soil conditions.
