As the piston reverses its travel, liquid product is discharged from the cylinder to into the container. If it is mechanical then the piston is driven by an eccentric crank connected to the driven shaft of the motor or speed reducer. The crank or piston rod is slotted to allow the piston stroke to be adjusted as required.
