Where the installation of pitless weighbridges has a constraint of space, pit type weighbridges can be installed similar to the old conventional type. In pit type weighbridges, the foundation pit is required to be constructed.
In Pit type the entire weighbridge will be flushed with ground level. Major steel structure and load cells are not visible and are provided under the platform structure. The Manhole entry is provided for maintenance purpose. Pit type weighbridges needs very less area compared to Pit-less type weighbridges dispensing with requirement of ramps on either side.
