Botanical Name– Cymbopogon Nardus

Origin– Native To Sri Lanka, Now Extensively Cultivated On The Southernmost Tip Of The Country.

Part Of Plant Used– Fresh, Part –Dreid Or Dried Grass.

Method Of Extraction– Steam Distillation

Aroma And Colour– Citronella Essential Oil Is A Colorless To Pale Yellow Mobile Liquid With A Fresh, Powerful, Woody Sweet Odor.

Therapeutic Indication– Mild Analgesic, Anti-Inflammatory, Anti-Rheumatic, Antiseptic, Decongestant, Diuretic, Expectorant, Laxative, Soporific, Stimulant (Circulation).

Principal Constituents– Antiseptic, Anti-Inflammatory, Antimicrobial, Antispasmodic, Bactericidal, Deodorant, Diaphoretic, Diuretic, Emmenagogue, Febrifuge, Fungicidal, Insecticide, Stomachic, Tonic And Vermifuge.

How To Use– Diffuse, Bath And Massage.

Caution– Citronella Is An Essential Oil And As Such Should Not Be Applied Directly, Undiluted On The Skin Or Ingested. It Should Not Be Taken By Pregnant Women.
