Contact SupplierGrade 1.2738 steel is one sort of plastic mold steel, equal to AISI P20+Ni plastic mold device steel. Grade 1.2738 is a plastic mold tool metallic, used specially for plastic injection die moulds. While Nickel, chromium and molybdenium are the alloying factors for hardness and durability. Grade 1.2738 steel device metal is mainly designed for plastic mold enterprise, in particular for big metallic mold elements.
Grade 1.2738 steel is commonly supplied as pre-hardened/quenched and tempered 280 – 320 (BHN) HB hardness and 32-36 HRC hardness condition with exact machinability. The p20 steel 1.2738 is melted in an electrical furnace and refined with VOD or DH device.The steel is machinable, polishable, and appropriate for texturing. Welding is fairly difficult, but viable. Make positive to pre-heat and carry out tempering, whilst the piece colled down after welding.
