Pneumatic fenders serve as a critical protective intermediary against collisions in ship-to-ship (sts) transfer operations and ship-to-dock (std) berthing/mooring operations. They can also be used for offshore platforms and installations. The fenders use compressed air to absorb the impact, generating very low reaction and pressure.
